How many times do these questions need to be asked? Seriously.
Are you someone that thinks your vote doesn’t count? Or maybe that your voice can’t be heard? Or it’s someone else’s jobs to save us? Or that it’s too late? Feeling Hopeless? Please. Think again! Are you just going to let our democracy die?
I’m getting a bit tired of the excuses. I’m getting tired of the laziness. If you fit into any of those schools of thought, well then, YOU are the problem. And I’m a bit tired of people feeling powerless and whining about it after the fact.
Your vote, DOES count. Your vote IS your voice. But that could soon be over. If you’re paying attention, you should now by now that Donald Trump and Stephen Miller are aggressively pursuing “election reform.” If we don’t do something, and do it NOW, voting or not, will be a moot issue. You’ll be off the hook for your responsibility. Oh well, too late now. I guess I’ll just keep bitching. That is until our entire right to free speech is gone, and even bitching will be illegal. Sound good? I mean looks what’s going on with Trump shutting down free speech in so many realms right now. Think you’ll be immune? Think again.
If there was ever a time in our lives to PAY ATTENTION. It’s right now! Do not give up! Follow what’s happening in our country, and even down, and especially down, to what’s happening in our own states, towns and your own neighborhoods. Know what’s going on in your child’s classroom. Know who’s voting to ban books in your child’s schools and local libraries. Know which judges are Trump loyalists, and which ones care about law, order, justice and preserving the constitution. It’s true that all politics is local—it’s where stuff…breeds. VOTE WISELY. Do your homework. Support local candidates that care.
There are lots of Substack writers here that I turn to every day for Truth and for Inspiration. Find Them. Feel free to ask for suggestions. Don’t just listen to the mainstream media—they are beholden to corporate and donor interests and the racial and political views of the owners. Watch how they fire people of color, and how they are more and more bending the knee to Trump’s desire of having a state-run only information program. That’s happening right now, right before our eyes and ears. This is not hyperbole, it’s FACT.
I know many tire of the broken record, but not listening to that record, is what got us here. Get out there and participate. Show Up at rallies and protests. Speak Out. Write and call your elected officials. Do it like your future depends on THEIR participation in solving the problems, because yes, it does. They’ve gotten quite lazy too, and it’s incredibly bothersome and destructive. Make sure they are listening to YOU. Hold them accountable. Pressure will help. VOTE IN EVERY SINGLE LOCAL ELECTION no matter how small, and no matter if you have no children. I will keep screaming about that until people understand their power to make a difference.
Join or volunteer for a campaign. Talk to anyone who will listen, even when it’s uncomfortable. Know you can reach someone, even if you don’t reach everyone. Donate or volunteer for a social cause that’s near and dear to you or someone you love. Everyone has a passion. Everyone has an opinion. Everyone has a vision for a better brighter world. Everyone has the ability to DO SOMETHING.
Know that doing nothing can and is already, effecting your children’s future. Will they know the truth about this country’s history—the victories and the wrongdoings? Does it matter to you? Do you want them saluting a flag that no longer stands for liberty and freedom? Will they know the difference? Should they?
Be their mentors for a better country, a safer world, and a better humanity. Show them how to make their own waves..it starts with a ripple.
I have always been a fan of Sting. Just an amazing talent. The more you listen to him, the more you feel—his passion for a better humanity. This is one of my favorites from him.
“All the bloodshed all the anger
All the weapons all the greed
All the armies all the missiles
All the symbols of your fear
There is a deeper wave than this
Listen to me girl
At the still point of destruction
At the center of the fury
All the angels all the devils
All around us can't you see
There is a deeper wave than this
Rising in the land
There is a deeper wave than this
Nothing will withstand
I say love is the seventh wave”
Sting.
Couldn’t agree more. Get out there—make a wave of your own. It’s starts with just a ripple. KNOW YOUR POWER, and USE IT.
You’re so right! Nothing’s more powerful than getting on a school board and ensuring our schools are following democracy. The truth is they haven’t been because good people don’t stand up for democracy or bother to listen to teacher whistleblowers at WhiteChalkCrime.com or EndTeacherAbuse.org reporting harm being done to our children. They just let things happen as if it’s all good in our schools when it has slowly gotten to this point where they don’t uphold a democracy. And you don’t have to have children in schools to run. Our schools are our democracy insurance. We’ve been scammed because so few know their power in a democracy. (They’ve dumbed us down so you don’t!)
Right on the money! It's NOW or NEVER!
